Design and art direction for celebrity cookbook titles

Design & Art Direction

We’ve worked with some of the best photographers and food stylists in the country to ensure the recipes truly shine from the page.

We’ve created colour palettes to complement the cuisine and create a cohesive look throughout the book and we’ve selected fonts that are easy to read but also add personality to the design.

Creating the appropriate grid system for each book has been imperative for a clean and organised layout and to ensure the recipes are easy to follow. We’ve also used icons and colour coding to enhance readability and to aid quick reference.

While some books required lots of illustration and other graphic elements others have focused on using white space effectively to present a clean and calm look.

Chapter openers were also designed to reflect the theme of the cuisine in each section and special print finishes were explored such as embossing and foil stamping to add a tactile and premium quality to the books.
