Designing book jackets for a publishing giant
Penguin Random HouseBrief
To create stand-out designs and compelling and marketable covers across different authors and genres for world-leading book publisher, Penguin Random House.
Design Approach
We receive early manuscripts or synopsis of the books from the publisher to ensure we understand the book’s genre, theme, tone of voice and target audience. Colour schemes would then be explored to evoke the mood of the book, imagery research to resonate with the book’s theme and identify fonts to complement the book’s content and genre. Consideration of the personality of the author is also crucial to the design exploration.
